A picture of an exquisite South Indian masala dosa—probably wondering why this picture? Because REAL WORLD FICTION is now producing our segment, Food Snap! It’s a street food, drinks, and culinary culture segment. We don’t know where in Trinidad and Tobago you can find this, but we’ll share what we do know right here on Food Snap! It’s typically served folded or rolled, with sides like sambar or chutney, and filled with spiced potato masala.
DJ Private Ryan presents the electrifying Sweet Tooth Symphony, featuring Sekon Sta’s masterful harmonization and a voice that resonates like a thunderous note on the steel pan. In a time when money is on everyone’s mind, he has found a way to say what he means and mean what he says, delivering every line with purpose and passion. His take on this riddim was rich in melodic expression.

When a trio like this ... Holder, Lara, and Sagar — stands at the entrance of a new establishment, you know something special is happening. And at the opening of 277 Restaurant, the conversation flowed effortlessly from cricket memories to culinary curiosity.

I always thought only Guyanese folks said “chicken curry,” while the rest of us swore by “curry chicken.” But here on the street segment, the host proudly presented a steaming plate of “chicken curry” like it was a royal decree. I’m convinced, though—no matter what you call it, once that spicy aroma hits your nose, it’s going to taste like “curry chicken” in your heart.
We all know what it means to be Trini to the bone ... but let’s be honest, Bago is truly our own vibe.
Why? Because after spending 3–4 Christmas holidays in Tobago, I could tell you straight… the joy hits different.
I haven’t made it to Tobago Carnival yet (don’t judge me), but from what I’m observing?
My word ... it’s going to be a full-on blast.
Energy, culture, pace, people… Tobago setting the tone.
We stayed at a guest house by Buccoo Reef, filmed at Nylon Pool, and lived through nightlife that felt straight out of cinema.
Imagine this:
tourists everywhere, food steaming on the roadside, the hum of laughter, drinks clinking, local music pouring out of every corner ... that was my first time seeing tourism in real motion.
A few years later, I ended up back in Tobago ... this time for a football fete match.
The match was good, but when the electricity went, the night turned into a bar-counter liming fest with the Tobago team sharing drinks in the dark.
Only in Tobago.
Recently, I stumbled on a few videos that reignited that whole creative pulse… and I had to share them.

Then there’s Patrice Roberts, whose artistry and image balance power and grace. Her tattoos ... subtle but visible ... play like notes in a performance.
“It’s a vibe,” she once laughed. “You wear what you feel. Sometimes that means ink, sometimes that means glitter.”

As a roaming photographer, close-up shots are for the bold, not the faint-hearted. Often referred to as “SnapSHOT,” they capture perfect timing even through the hustle of a crowd.
In photography, moments when a subject’s eyes seem to say, “Look into my eyes,” are powerful—eyes that shine bright, bold, and full of confidence, silently declaring, “Snap me, I am beautiful.”
