Lara @Patrice

A Record Jam...

A Photo Memory: By RWF Roaming Photographer

Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is the greatest show on earth, where we feel the music and performances like those of Patrice Roberts. You can only be at your best here. The only one who took the challenge to elevate the jam scene across the world is Brian Lara, positioning it as a world-class celebration.

In the meantime, check out this video by Patrice asking a question.

Still A Road Man

Bunji Garlin

I hold briefs for no one. I’ve seen the comings and goings, the highs and awkward moments, as a roaming photographer. Culture can’t be contained; it’s a journey, a calling, for those with eyes to truly see. For me, drawing the best from carnival songs like this speaks to a space where people live and connect.

CAPITAL

Mical Teja x Patrice Roberts

“Universal” is a word that embodies a greeting that transcends both time and place.... a sentiment that warmly extends to Trinidad and Tobago. For me, it resonates like a melody, carrying with it the essence of welcome and the spirit of connection that defines this vibrant nation.

KMC+IWER

Xperience Fete

In today’s ever-changing world, certain elements inevitably evolve, yet the enduring vibes, energy, and passion for soca music remain a unifying force. For me, the artistry of both KMC and Iwer George embodies this timeless connection, offering a celebration of culture and rhythm that continues to inspire and leaves a lasting impression.

Lyrikal

Lyrikal

In conversation with Lyrikal, two things usually happen: you connect on a deep musical level, and you share plenty of laughter through a vibrant sense of humor.

We also wanted to put the spotlight on these songs.👷💪👷

KMC

Am Not Drunk

The phrase “drinking of a sneaker” carries only two interpretations, each intriguing in its own way. Yet, if you bring this up with KMC, he would confidently assert, “Am not drunk,” a statement he delivers with such conviction depicted in his music video that one might believe he truly knows best, where even the most unusual phrases hold meaning and a story waiting to be told.

Soca Starter

Dj Private Ryan

(Lost in Trinbago)

This Trini could flow when soca music aligns perfectly with culture and the rhythm takes over, the colours burst to life, and the energy becomes irresistible. It’s the kind of celebration where music, dance, and heritage blend into an unforgettable experience, pulling everyone into the heartbeat of the festivities.

If you know how to rock it, then rock it slow. In a time where past, present, and future can blend seamlessly, the opportunity to enjoy music in the moment is truly priceless.

Respectfully Yours

Soca Master

Super Blue

Austin Lyons

Blue Blue We Love You💓💓💓

The legacy of your presence in the arena of Soca will never be forgotten. From my days as a boy, I remember seeing an album that paired you with an iconic superhero, with your music playing in the background. Soca, in the Shaolin temple an era we know as “kick up,” resonated at the Globe Stadium in San Juan or from a neighbour’s television set blazing hard kicks. Your call to celebrate, which we call a fete, is an invitation to pure joy. A carnival party is more than just a gathering... t is the ultimate celebration, a vibrant and unifying experience that captures the true spirit of life.

Sekon Sta + Certified Sampson

Okay, comparison aside, the formula stays the same: get people in a happy mood, add Trinbago vibes, sprinkle in some abracadabra, and you’ve got Euphoria Sekon Sta. “It’s been a while since performing, and it feels good,” especially seeing the joy on Certified Sampson’s face...pure enjoyment from the collaboration.

@Coutain

Jamtown

It was my first time getting close enough to snap a pic of Coutain, whose style channels an Eazy-E hip hop vibe with an L.A. street stance in motion something reminiscent of the Snoop Dogg era. A very interesting artiste, his music is smooth and perfect for a Sunday evening performance at Sokah Origins.
