It must be summer. Brian Lara is in town. And going on their first outing against a bunch of kids in Brisbane this week, the West Indies could probably use the legendary batsman, even at 46 and deep into retirement, against Australia.Lara will no doubt have an eye on the three-match Test series between playing golf and appearances organised by Adam Wilcox, the pro golfer whose company runs golf tours and also brought him to Australia this time last year .

Lara was at the SCG on Thursday, where corporate  were offered an intimate setting with one of the game's greats, including a batting lesson and walk on the ground and a tour through the away dressing room where he sat before and after arriving on the world stage with a bang with that brilliant 277 against Australia in 1993. Among those rubbing shoulders with Lara was Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson. .
