Bloodhound's shock waves are so intense that they are likely to fluidise the sand in a specially prepared desert track in South Africa, where testing will take place next year. (Testing will occur in phases, with the first aiming for a top speed of more than 1287km/h. The world record is currently 1228km/h.)
