Cape Town - The Proteas' ICC World Twenty20 title ambitions are out of their hands, after Faf du Plessis' men crashed to a three wicket defeat against the West Indies in Nagpur on Friday.
After winning the toss and electing to field, the West Indies restricted the Proteas to 122/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
Despite losing kingpin Chris Gayle for a two-ball four, the West Indies posted 123/7 with two deliveries remaining to secure top position in Pool A - and their spot in the semi-finals.
