SCORCH On D' Greens

Getting in the Groove with Pan: A Scorching Experience on D Greens

Oh yes, I was roaming...between the North/ Grand Stand... catching the echoes of sweet steel, and somehow ...lounging with SCORCH on D Greens, soaking up the vibes like a true feter.

The sun? Blazing. The energy? Relentless. But NOTHING...and I mean NOTHING...hits quite like the sound of pan on a Carnival weekend. Because when the bands strike up, when the tenors start to dance over the bass, and when the music grips you? Everything is everything.

One minute, you’re sipping a drink, the next? Somebody handing you a plate of food like you part of their crew. Drinks flowing, cups disappearing (RIP to all lost cups), security making their rounds...but let’s be real, nobody leaving when the music nice.

And then, the FULL-SCREEN MONITOR lights up, showing the steel band performances in all their glory. Now, I’m not judging, but when Heritage Skillfile Pan Orchestra started to play? Everybody ears perked up. You know that moment when the music grabs you mid-conversation, mid-sip, mid-step, and you just HAVE to stop and take it in? Yeah, that happened.

So, big up to NCC/Pan Trinbago for keeping the steelpan legacy alive...shouts to SCORCH for making sure the vibes on D Greens were nothing short of legendary.

If you weren’t there? Boy, I don’t even know what to tell you… except next year, doh stick!
